Description
Genesis 18:33-19:1 (ESV)
While Abraham talks to the Lord about the coming destruction of Sodom and intercedes for any righteous people living in that wicked city, Lot sits at the center of the city’s commercial and social life. At one point, Lot “looked toward Sodom,” then he decided to live in Sodom, and finally he sat at the very gate of Sodom. There he was when two angels had to visit to rescue him from the coming judgment of God upon that evil place. When we see the reality of the fallout of Lot’s decision, our hearts will break for the terrible consequences that result when a person chooses to try to live with one foot in God’s kingdom and the other in the godless culture.
