The people of Sodom are a quintessential example of what happens when sin not only becomes acceptable but is approved and even celebrated. As John Philips aptly said, “God sets a limit to human wickedness beyond which judgment is inevitable, unsuspected by the majority, and final in its character.” Let us carefully unpack the descent of humans into the approval of sin, and the consequential judgment of God. Our culture is in a terrible state, and the true people of Jesus Christ must declare the power of God to save, forgive, and make right.
