The shadows of the coming materialistic Babylon are here. God says that the world becomes intoxicated with wealth and pleasure in the end times. He commands that true believers separate themselves from this evil way of thinking and living. In fact, while pagans are referred to in Scripture as “haters of God,” professing (or fake) Christians are labeled as “lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.” This subtle difference indicates how dangerous it is to live like the world in terms of pleasure, wealth, and selfish indulgence. People may be fooling themselves. They think they do not hate God, but do they truly love Him? The book of Revelation helps us recalibrate.
