Genesis 18:9-18 (ESV)
We watch the compassion of God Almighty, when Sarah lies to the Lord. God had just reiterated the promise to her that she would have a son, even though she was well past child-bearing age. Sarah laughed, and then she denied her laughter out of fear. Jesus showed her mercy and passed over the offense. God then moves on to share His plan for Sodom and Gomorrah with Abraham, inviting Abraham to be an intercessor and to talk with the Lord about His dealings in the world. What intimacy!
